St John Fisher Catholic High School

Bishop Wheeler KS3 Baccalaureate

Developing the Whole Student

At St John Fisher Catholic Academy, we believe in recognising not just academic success, but the full contribution our students make to school life and the wider world. That’s why our Key Stage 3 students work towards the Bishop Wheeler Baccalaureate, an inclusive and aspirational award that celebrates excellence, character, and service.

The Baccalaureate is designed to nurture well-rounded individuals by encouraging students to grow in knowledge, develop important life skills, and live out the values of our Catholic faith. It acknowledges that every young person has the potential to achieve in a variety of ways and that success can be found not only in the classroom, but also in the way we serve others and contribute to the common good.

Students earn the award by actively engaging in a broad range of opportunities and experiences across three key areas:

  • Core Learning – Developing academic knowledge, skills, and a love of learning.

  • Personal Development – Building confidence, character, resilience, and leadership.

  • Contribution to the Community – Living out Gospel values through acts of kindness, service, and participation in the life of the school and beyond.

The Bishop Wheeler Baccalaureate encourages our students to take pride in who they are and what they do, to strive for their best, and to grow into thoughtful, capable, and compassionate young people ready to shape the world around them.
