"We believe that young people learn best when they’re happy, supported, and valued."

Pastoral Care and Inclusion – Educating for Life

At St John Fisher, we work hard to create a nurturing environment where every student feels safe, encouraged, and confident to be themselves. When students are happy, they are more open to learning, more resilient in the face of challenges, and more able to flourish - both academically and personally. Happiness isn’t just a by-product of success; it’s a foundation for it.

We believe young people learn best when they are happy!

At St John Fisher Catholic Academy, we are deeply committed to creating a community where every pupil, parent, member of staff, and visitor feels safe, supported, and valued. We are proudly inclusive, welcoming every child regardless of their individual needs or abilities, and treating each one with the dignity and care they deserve.

Pastoral care is at the heart of our school. Rooted in our strong Catholic ethos, we aim to nurture each student as a whole person, spiritually, emotionally, socially, and academically.

We seek to reflect the values of Christ in all that we do, building a community grounded in encouragement, compassion, respect, forgiveness, and reconciliation.

We believe that the emotional health and wellbeing of our students is the foundation for a happy and successful education. Our policies and daily practices are designed to ensure that St John Fisher is a place where learning flourishes and every child can thrive.

Through high quality support and strong relationships, we help our students build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self. We want every child to feel a true sense of belonging and to be equipped to take an active role in school life, contribute positively to the wider community, and be well-prepared for the next steps in their journey.

Our dedicated Inclusion Team plays a vital role in this mission, working closely with students and families to provide personalised support, remove barriers, and ensure that every child has the opportunity to lead a balanced, fulfilling life both in school and beyond.

We believe wholeheartedly in Educating for Life and that means caring for the whole person, every step of the way.
