Drama
St. John Fisher values Drama highly and sees it as an integral part of the school curriculum.
"At St. John Fisher, Drama isn’t just an academic subject -
it is a celebration of voice, identity, and imagination."
As part of our aim to ‘Educate for Life’, we provide an ambitious and inspiring Drama curriculum for students throughout their time at St. John Fisher - one that meets and exceeds the expectations of the statutory Curriculum. This commitment is reflected in the growing number of students who take part in performances, theatre trips, and a rich array of extra-curricular drama opportunities.
With students ranging from those with no prior performance experience to those with a strong background in theatre, our curriculum is designed to foster creativity, build confidence, and nurture self-expression. Students explore a variety of theatrical styles and genres, develop their ability to devise and script performances, work collaboratively, and engage critically with live theatre.
We prepare students for future study at GCSE and A Level, whilst also equipping them with transferable life skills -communication, empathy, teamwork, and resilience - that extend far beyond the stage. Opportunities to perform in school productions and local events provide students with invaluable, lifelong experiences.
We are always proud and delighted to see a number of our students go onto perform on the international stages, such as the West End and Broadway and always welcome them back to St John Fisher with very proud hearts.
