Academic Overview:

Media Studies is all about understanding the world around us. Every day we are bombarded with information from TV, social media, advertising, film, magazines, podcasts, radio, music videos and newspapers all vying to control what we think.

In Media Studies we unlock how messages are created, who controls them, and how they impact audiences so that our students can think for themselves. We also develop the creativity and technical skills needed to produce the media that punctuates our daily lives. Students often discover that, while they’re already immersed in media, studying it in depth reveals a hidden world behind the screen.
