St John Fisher Catholic High School

Welcome to Dance

Academic Overview:

Dance at St John Fisher is a dynamic and inclusive subject that empowers students to express themselves with confidence, creativity, and passion. From Year 7 to A-Level, students explore a wide range of dance styles and themes - lyrical, street jazz, physical theatre, identity, politics, and more - within a supportive and ambitious environment led by conservatoire-trained professionals.

Lessons take place in fully equipped studios, with opportunities to perform in professional settings and connect with leading companies and institutions like Rambert and NSCD. With a curriculum that blends technique, theory, and personal development, students are challenged to grow artistically and academically, while building resilience, discipline, and cultural awareness.

Whether performing, choreographing, or analysing, dance becomes a powerful journey of transformation - one that celebrates every student’s potential to be larger, more powerful, and more beautiful than they ever imagined.

"To dance is to be out of yourself. Larger, more powerful, more beautiful. This is power, it is glory on earth and it is yours for the taking."

Agnes de Mille
